Physics of Golf Swing

Physics is an inherent part of golf right from the starting motion to the finish. It is important for a golfer to understand the physics of a golf swing. By examining the physics of golf swing through biomechanics you can know your improvement areas. To do this, you need high speed video technology that will help you capture your swing motion and analyze it.

To perfect your physics of the golf swing, you need to first know your weak areas and improve them with constant practice and training. It is really interesting to know how physics is involved in the swinging action.

If you visualize the backswing, downswing, and the forward swing, you will realize that the motion is circular. On second thoughts you will observe that this motion is similar to that of a pendulum. The force with which you hit the ball affects the distance it travels. The distance traveled by the ball is directly related to the force applied to it, the angle at which the force is applied, and gravity (9.81 m/s/s), air resistance, and wind resistance. So you see how important it is to know the physics of golf swing.
