The Pre-shot Golf Swing Technique

There are two aspects of a golf swing technique.  The Pre-shot golf swing technique and the actual swing technique.  By the actual golf swing technique, we mean the swinging action related techniques.

There are many articles and golf lessons that discuss the swinging action related techniques.  But in this article our focus is the pre-shot Golf Swing Technique.

Firstly, relax and take a step back and line yourself up behind the ball looking towards the hole. It is helpful to visualize the swing from there.  The mental picture that you form proves useful during the final execution.

The next Pre-shot Golf Swing Technique is the swing set up.  Make yourself comfortable as you are standing over the ball and make sure your clubface alignment is correct.  At this point it is very important that you are calm and confident about your golf skill.  If you are weak in the mind or nervous at this stage, your swing action can never be accurate.  Having a pre-shot routine will add to your confidence and will help you in your overall set-up.

After aligning your club to your target, concentrate towards a proper grip.  Now check again if your clubface alignment has not changed.  Finally, make your feet parallel to your target line. After a quick last check on feet alignment and target, you are ready to address the ball.
